INFO / PERMISSIONS

CHARACTER NAME: Hiro Kagayama
CHARACTER SERIES: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker

Appearance~

Build: Despite his innocent looking appearance, he's confirmed to be surprisingly well built and muscular. Considering the situations that he's thrown into, it's helps to be durable enough to take some beat downs and keep trucking. He relies on using a combo of brains and magic in battle, but won't hesitate to get physical if he needs to.

Fashion: Has three versions of his bunny hood: Standard, School and Summer.

Face: Dark blue eyes and messy black hair. He looks similar to the protagonist of Persona 5 in some ways. Plenty of characters in the game have called him handsome from first glance. Also he keeps a good poker face where his expressions can vary from subdued smiling to over-the-top determination. While it's usually played up for dramatics or humor, he can use them to mask what he's truly feeling towards a situation or person sometimes. (i.e: Playing himself up to be a clueless dumb guy, condescending jerk, etc.) Those who are perspective enough or close to him may be able to distinguish his fake smiles and real ones.

Age: 18

Voice: Hiroshi Kamiya (Japanese) / Patrick Poole (English) (Take your pick)

Abilities~

Weapons: His cellphone or COMP:

- The Demon Summoning App is a special program on his cellphone that allows Hiro to basically summon demons. They can vary from the 'wow they're so cute' variety or the 'i'll eat your human brains out' variety. The strength of the demon depends on the Summoner's spiritual power. So those who don't have latent spiritual power will be killed by demons on sight. Since Hiro has an unusually high amount of spiritual power for a human... It means that he can control some pretty powerful demons.

- The app also comes with the extension of the summoner able to use magic. Hiro specializes in destructive 'Agi' (fire) magic and tries to adapt his spells in creative ways in battle. 'Drain' is his trump card move where he can suck a person's magical power and life force. And passive skills like 'Phys Repel' can make physical damage reflect back onto his enemies (it's not very consistent though).

- The Nicaea video viewer is where someone can see 'death clips' of a person that they're destined to become close with in the future. They're usually in low quality, but the point of them is to have the user prevent per-determined deaths from Nicaea. The Nicaea system is linked to the Akashic Records which is the universe's big wad of knowledge.

Natural Abilities:

- Since he's a 'Shining One', the spiritually sensitive people will be able to sense and be drawn to his tremendous amounts of spiritual and magical power. This also counts towards otherworldly beings like demons or aliens. He's kind of like a giant lighthouse in that regard.

- In battle, Hiro can gain a very unreal focus and seriousness that drives him to survive and will not hesitate to be ruthless in his actions if he needs to be. While he doesn't like to get violent and will try to talk things out, he won't hesitate to show the same intent if someone is attacking him. It's mainly when he's under extreme stress, anger or fear where he shuts his emotions down and focusing on situations at hand.

- Also he's gained some unusually good reflexes in his fights, so he'd be able to dodge near-death blows or minimize any damage thrown his way into something survivable. As an Administrator, his reflexes have heightened.

- And finally, he's been stated to be rather good at leading people and giving orders in battle when it's necessary. Not to mention, he's been told that he's great at coming up with plans and strategies to fight against opponents. It's one of his natural talents.

- And let's not forget his good sense of humor. If you consider puns and childish pranks good. It helps with lightening the mood for your pals or pissing off your enemies, right?

- He can also speak Spanish and French. It's implied that he's been learning those language before the events of the game.

Fighting Style: Hiro focuses on being magic oriented in battle to exploit his opponents' weaknesses and tries to use his spells in unique and unorthodox ways. It also increases his unpredictability on what he'll do next. To him, battles mean coming up with quick strategies on the fly. When all else fails, then he'll switch over to getting physical if he needs to. Along with that, he also leans towards a lot of vitality for the sake of survival. While he wants to end his fights as quickly as possible, he's fully prepared for more drawn out battles. Long story short, he can adapt quickly to the situation thrown at him. While he won't kill humans, he won't hesitate to incapacitate them into a state where they can't do anything. While non humans (such as demons and aliens) with malicious intent get no free pass and will be killed unless they can be reasoned with.

Weaknesses: He'll tend to put the lives of friends and innocent civilians above his own. So unless they could protect themselves or fight back, then he'll try to prioritize their safety above his own. Which means that he can pull some self-sacrificing tactics in the middle of battle. Also his hunt for amusement and curiosity can get him into some deep shit if he's not careful sometimes. And quickness to accept challenges can be a weakness as he becomes stubborn and thrilled when he can push himself against powerful opponents. His will to win isn't always a good thing.

Seven Personality Traits

+ Optimistic (Hiro always does his best to lighten the mood even whenever the apocalypse is rearing its ugly head and demons are killing off humanity. This optimism of his stems from his belief to continue clinging to hope and be a hero to people whenever they need it! For him, to live means making choices... And he chooses to be this way as its the most fun for him.)

+ Friendly (Whenever it comes to people, he's a social butterfly who likes to get to know people and listen out for their problems and support them however he can. His friendliness doesn't mean that he's always an enabler as Hiro will call people out for their faults and tell them whenever they done wrong, but tries not to hold deep grudges over big things. He's even not against befriending demons and supernatural creatures despite how deeply involved with ending humanity)

+ Humorous (Even whenever shit is hitting the fan, Hiro retains a big sense of humor which varies from goofy puns to more cynical dark humor to keep his spirits up. Sometimes, this class clown act he uses is a mask to hide how sad or disturbed he's feeling about things... But he really wants to be an air of levity in bad situations! This can flip-flop with him being forced to play the tsukkomi for other people if he feels they're being stupid or whenever he needs to become the advisor of common sense in the room)

(+\-) Determined (For better or worst, Hiro's determination is the engine that keeps him going. Sometimes, it's inspiring as he has a strong urge to survive and never give up. Other times, this can make him alarmingly gutsy and aggressive when it comes to getting what he wants which can lead him to stumbling into bad situations. Or even borderline suicidal with his obsession with saving people, protecting his friends and figuring out how to stop the Septentriones and Triangulum.)

- Impulsive (Hiro can let his impulsive thoughts and feelings cloud his proper judgments sometimes. Whenever he wants to have fun and amusement, he moves forward with full force and ends up discarding all consequences. Whenever he's angry, he'll put everything he has into defeating the enemy in a cold rage. Whenever he's frustrated with something or someone, his friendliness can drop into something more bossy and snippy to get them to shut up and follow his lead which can be quite unsettling compared to how he usually is.)

- Flippant (While Hiro is a selfless person when it truly counts, he still carries a bizarre childish streak where he acts independently by his choices and follows the beat of his own drum. This means he can end up acting against authority sometimes or do weird things on his own whim and not care about other people's opinions. If it's not fun and interesting, then he'll twist things to become the way he wants. This can open new possibilities at best and conflict with other people's ideals at the worst.)

- Competitive (He's not a big fan of losing! He's the type of person who will competitively accept any (reasonable or fun) challenge thrown his way and try to work hard to exceed the conditions met. If he does lose, then he'll be kind of sore about it and hold a small comedic petty grudge until he finds a pranky way to get back at his target!)

[OOC]
This is the permissions list for OOC (out of character), activity.
Answer the following questions with "yes" or "no", as well as additional information if desired.

Backtagging: Always! I won't stop a thread unless I can't think of anything else to tag with.
Threadhopping: I'm game! Unless the thread is really long or private, then talk to me before diving in.
Fourthwalling: Sure. As long as it's light fourthwalling as it's occasionally done in the game too. No worries about it being too intense.
Offensive subjects (elaborate): There's not a lot out there that can offend me! I'm an open book.

[IC]
This is the permissions list for IC (in-character), activity.
Answer the following questions with "yes" or "no", as well as additional information if desired. With IC permissions, it's a good idea to elaborate on what other players can expect from your character if they choose to do any of the following:

Hugging this character: Go ahead! Expect him being the one to be giving the hugs more often than not. If he's on the receiving end, then he might be return it for giggles or if he knows you well enough. Or he'll be visibly disturbed if you're a creep or something. Maybe even punch you if you take it to uncomfortable levels.
Kissing this character: Go ahead! He might shove you away if it's out of nowhere or possibly return it if you've got a good Fate Link going with him. He's a very healthy teenager in some regards. Yes.
Flirting with this character: Bring it on. It'll either go over his head, he'll tell you to stop or he'll return the flirty quips right back at you. Expect terrible puns.
Fighting with this character: Go ahead. Hiro is experienced enough in brawls since he's been fighting demons, humans, star aliens and a god-like being/administrator of the universe. The events had made him get gud at magic and he's grown stronger than your average high school student. Also he has high spiritual power/awareness due to being able to see Nicaea videos, overexposure to the abnormal and being a "Shining One" probably helps in that aspect too.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): He's used to it! Minor injuries are fine, but anything high would need to be getting in touch with me.
Killing this character: Again, please talk to me. His stubborn will to survive might make him almost like a cockroach to put down.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Go ahead. He tends to play up the joker face a lot and hides much more insightful, sad and somber feelings behind his humorous streak. Which means he might outright avert the conversation quickly to something else if he's feeling uncomfortable, downplay things with funny jokes or even outright lie when it feels it's necessary. But for the most part, he's pretty open about how he's feeling. Not all of his joker facade is forced as he is a genuinely quirky person. His mindset can be very weird and jumps all over the place sometimes.
Warnings: Besides his bizarre sense of humor... None!
